Alderman Ybarra Appeals for Input at Public Hearing

Hello Neighbors,

We have a VERY important meeting this Tuesday, Feb 7 at 7:30 at City Hall (201 Delafield Street) in the Council Chambers.

There will be a public hearing on the rezoning MSP Company is requesting on Meadow Lane. We all know this project would be passed by the plan commission. I appreciate Alderman Joan Francoeur and Plan Commissioner Jim Hoppe for voting against this project.

Tuesday is the important vote. If the Common Council votes against the rezoning request then MSP will have to go back and decide if they are still interested in re-submitting a plan.
The meeting on Tuesday will start with a public hearing on the rezoning. We need every last neighbor in the room to share your views during the Public Hearing. That is exactly what Public Hearings are for, to share your opinion of whether or not this property should be rezoned.
As I have stated on the record, MSP has brought an improved plan to us but it is still too dense. We have a glut of apartments in our neighborhood and city. MSP is recommending approximately 9 units per acre. They can bring it down to 6 or 6.5.
With that said, we need to focus the comments on whether or not the property should be rezoned to RM 2 from Temporary T1 which is its current zoning. If this zoning gets approved by the Common Council then MSP will build the project we saw at the Plan Commission.
We can make a difference by sharing our point of view during the Public Hearing, please come and share your thoughts.
I will have a quick pre-meeting at 7:20 outside the council chambers again.
If you have any questions, please call me at 414 807-7858.
Please forward this to your neighbors because I had to recreate my email distribution list and I may have missed some people who wanted to be included on these messages.
Best regards,
Paul
