Tree Removals to Precede Rolling Ridge Repaving

According to Craig Ausen, the City of Waukesha's head engineer of the Rolling Ridge repaving project, beginning by early to mid-July, a number of trees and other foliage will be removed from areas approximately 50 feet on either side of the culverts that will be built to drain the creekbed or "ditch" that runs along Rolling Ridge Drive from Devonshire CT down to University DR.  The culverts "upstream" from Devonshire will not be replaced. 

Besides the repaving of Rolling Ridge and the connecting courts, the City also will be removing the spillway or coffer dam located near Rolling Ridge and Woodridge DR.  According to Ausen, the City plans to redo the landscaping and not build another structure like the one that needs replacing. 

One final bit of information from Craig Ausen:  The City plans to make significant modifications to the creekbed or ditch along Rolling Ridge within the next several years.  The plan is to "reshape" the ditch and make it deeper to help with storm runoff.  Most of the trees and bushes presently growing in or near the creek from Devonshire CT down to University DR will be removed.  This is good  and bad news.  The good news is that many unhealthy and eroded trees will be removed, but many healthy trees are likely to be removed as well.

Crews to Begin Repaving Rolling Ridge DR in May

As early as May, 2020, the City of Waukesha will be starting a repaving project along Rolling Ridge Drive and the adjacent courts.  This will be a significant project that will be quite disruptive but the end result will be worth it.  Besides the repaving of  the street, the City plans to replace all of the culverts that currently run underneath Rolling Ridge from Devonshire CT down to University DR..  This will result in the removal and replacement of the split rail fencing at several locations.

Below is the list of improvements that will be coordinated by the City of Waukesha's project engineer, Craig Ausen.

• Resurfacing of Rolling Ridge Drive from Meadowbrook Road to Woodridge Dr
• Resurfacing of Woodridge Drive from Meadowbrook Road to Rolling Ridge Dr
• Full depth pavement replacement of Rolling Ridge Dr from Woodridge Drive to University Dr
• Resurfacing of the following cul-de-sacs
• Dartmoor
• Plymouth
• Faringdon
• Lancaster
• Devonshire
• Wellington
• Turnberry
• Aberdeen
• Yorkshire

This project will also include upsizing the existing culvert crossings from Devonshire Ct to University Dr. Existing split rail fence will be removed and replaced as part of the project.

Spring Brush Pickup Dates Announced by City

The City of Waukesha has announced the dates of the 2020 brush pickup.  It will take place on our residential garbage pickup date (Thursday) during the week of May 4th through May 8th.

Accordingly, the date for those of us residing in the Windings (or Pebble Valley Addition #2 as we are legally known) will be May 7th.  Follow the link below for more details from the City's website:

2020 Invoices are in the Mail!

The invoices, Annual Meeting minutes and a copy of the approved 2020 budget were mailed on December 31st.  The due date for the 2020 assessment of $140 (same as last year) will be January 31st. 

When sending in your payment, be sure to address your envelope correctly to avoid delays in your payment reaching us.  The invoices will also display your lot # and we would appreciate it if you could include your lot # on the memo line of your check.

2020 Budget Approved at Annual Meeting

The WMC annual meeting took place on December 2nd and the 2020 budget was approved with an assessment amount of $140, the same as 2019.  The assessment is used to cover the cost of lawn care, snow removal and tree maintenance for the 25 acres of common property located on about 20 outlots.

The 2020 Board of Directors were elected to one year terms.  Jeff Baldwin will join incumbents Ann Schefus, Jason Hoeppner and Frank Remfrey to serve on the Board for next year.  In other action, Jill Kandler expressed interest in heading up a committee that will upgrade the various courts and gardens throughout the subdivision.

The invoices for 2020 will be mailed around January 1st  and the assessment payment will be due January 31st.  The invoices will also contain more detailed minutes of the annual meeting.

Annual Meeting Scheduled for Monday, December 2nd, 2019

The annual meeting of the WMC is slated for Monday, December 2nd.  The meeting will begin at 7 PM and will be held at the Spring City Restaurant, located on the corner of Grandview Blvd. and Silvernail Road.

All property owners should have received an agenda and proxy postcard.  Be sure to mail in your proxy card even if you plan to attend the meeting. 

 The main order of business will be to elect the Board of Directors for 2020 and approve the 2020 budget.

Road resurfacing planned for 2020 in Windings

The City's Department of Public Works announced last week that several streets in the Windings subdivision will be resurfaced with a fresh layer of asphalt next season. According to the Waukesha Freeman, the resurfacing "restores a street to "like new" condition by repairing storm inlets, manholes, settled curbs and then milling the existing surface and replacing it with a new asphalt driving surface."

Proposed resurfacing projects include Rolling Ridge Drive from Woodridge Lane to Denton, St. Andrew's Court to University Drive; Lancaster Drive from Rolling Ridge to the cul-de-sac.

This is good news since these streets have been deteriorating considerably in the past several years.
