2019 Budget Approved at Annual Meeting
The 2019 budget was approved at the December 3rd Annual Meeting. The 2019 assessment will be $140, a $10 increase. The increase was the result of higher lawn maintenance costs and continued issues with diseased ash and elm trees in the WMC outlets.

New Sites Announced for Voting
Beginning with the primary election taking place in several weeks, Windings residents are now required to vote at the Park-Rec office on Aviation Drive, located near the Waukesha Co. Airport. For more info. visit
https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/FindMyPollingPlace.
The decision to relocate our polling place is likely due to an increase in concern for school safety. All residents should have received a postcard from the City of Waukesha by now informing them of this decision.
If you are unhappy about this occurrence, keep in mind that you can request absentee ballots and vote from home while sipping on a cocktail. The City even covers the postage both ways.

Car Thefts Occuring in Area
In the past several weeks a number of car thefts have taken place in the Pewaukee and Waukesha area, including one in the Windings. According to the Pewaukee police, the pattern of the thefts seems to be that the cars are sitting out in driveways unlocked. When the thieves open the door to look for coins in the ashtray, they sometimes discover a spare car key. In addition, the garage door opener, attached to the visor, is used to enter the home where keys are located.
Several precautions are recommended: 1. Do not leave your car unlocked; 2. Lock your doors to your home at night; 3. Do not leave a spare key anywhere inside your unlocked car; 4. Make sure your home's exterior light is working.
Now that school is adjourned for the summer it is common for sleepovers to take place. Parents need to be vigilant about supervising the sleepovers and communicate with each other about the agenda for the evening.
About ten years ago, a 15 year old was killed while driving a stolen car during a police chase on Silvernail Road. Let's hope we will not have another tragedy.

2018 Assessment Invoices and Annual Meeting Minutes Have Been Mailed
The annual WMC end of year mailing has been completed and the invoices for 2018 as well as the minutes of the Annual Meeting were sent to each property owner on January 30th. The invoices indicate that the assessment will remain at $130/year and the payment is due on January 31, 2018.
If you did not receive your invoice or discarded it thinking it was junk mail, please contact Frank Remfrey, (262) 542-0176, ASAP. You may face increased charges if your payment is not received in a timely fashion.
If any part of your contact information is listed incorrectly on the invoice or the address label, be sure to let us know.
Finally, I want to assure the vast majority of homeowners that we will absolutely pursue all unpaid accounts vigorously with tactics ranging from gentle reminders all the way to lawsuits that evolve into liens against the unpaid property.
Best Wishes,
Frank Remfrey, WMC President
